Q. Once we order our kitchen, how long will it take before the
installation will be started?
A. Usually it will take about 4-5 weeks. Our cabinet
manufactures' production loads vary. Also if your kitchen has
some unusual features the time could be longer.
Q. What are the characteristics of a quality cabinet?
A. The best cabinets have real wood boxes, five pieces drawer
boxes with an attached drawer front and dovetail construction.
The drawer slides should be rated for at least 75 lbs. load
capacity. Better yet would be under-mount slides with a
self-closing feature. Adjustable shelves are a must. Concealed
hinges add a convenient touch to any cabinet. Of course, the
wood selection and furniture quality finish always distinguishes a
quality cabinet.

A. In 1992, The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NBKA) introduced new design
guidelines based on extensive research conducted by the association along with the University

Q. How does remodeling my kitchen or bath payoff?
A. Return on investment isn't everything. People renovate for other reasons, too. If you'll be
moving in a relatively short time---maybe, one to three years---plan to spend less than if you
plan to stay longer. Focus on the jobs that have the potential for return---kitchen and bath
remodels always rank high. In the 1999 Cost vs.Value Report published by Remodeling
Magazine, appraiser, Alan Hummel says, "from the standpoint of selling the house, the kitchen
facelift is one of the best improvements homeowners can buy." In the West, minor kitchen
remodels have an average payback of 75%, major remodels--67%. Baths--68%. Finally, if for
no other reason, put in a kitchen or bathroom that makes you feel good every time you walk
into it.
Q. Color must play and important role in the overall appeal of my kitchen or bath. How vital is
color in the design?
A. Color is a potent tool. It can enlarge or shrink a space, highlight or camouflage part of it, or
create a mood. Whether you are selecting paint, countertops, cabinet color, appliances, sinks,
faucets, or wallpaper, the colors in your scheme have to work together. Tips: a) dark green
walls make large kitchens feel more cozy, b) cool tints raise a low ceiling, c) to expand space,
keep contrasts to a minimum, d) rather than tear down a wall to gain extra space, use color to
achieve the same effects with the shrewd use of color!

Much less, plan my kitchen or new bath. What can I do?? What is the secret to a good
